一般按合金成份進(jìn)行分類，用途表述則對(duì)比渙散。 分類碳化鎢基硬質(zhì)合金：包含 WC—Co、WC—TaC—Co、WC—TiC—Co、 WC—TiC—TaC—Co、WC—Ti—TaC—NbC—Co 等合金，這些合金均以碳化鎢為主 成份。

碳化鈦基或碳氮化鈦基硬質(zhì)合金：一般以 TiC 或 Ti（C、N）為根底成份， 以 Ni—Mo 作粘結(jié)劑而構(gòu)成的一種硬質(zhì)合金。這類硬質(zhì)合金近幾年又有很多新的 發(fā)展， 如含 Ta、 等重金屬元素的多元復(fù)式碳化物固溶體參加研發(fā)高性能 Ti W （C、 N）基金屬陶瓷等。

涂層硬質(zhì)合金：一般指在韌性的碳化鎢基硬質(zhì)合金基體上經(jīng)過(guò)化學(xué)氣相 堆積或物理涂層辦法，涂上幾微米厚的 TiC、TiN、Ti（C、N）、Al2O3 之類的硬 質(zhì)化合物而出產(chǎn)的。
